At Up In Frames we offer quality custom canvas stretching and framing at Adelaide's lowest prices. We use only quality stretching timber and cross bracing to prevent any warping or twisting over time. The canvases are kept on their edge at all times when stretching and are never face down to prevent any damage to the painting. Here are a few examples of canvases that we have stretched recently for customers ranging from Bali canvases to authentic African canvases and also scenic photography printed on canvas. As you will see they are all very effective and are well worth having stretched properly. Above is a copy of the painting from Rocky which was about 1500 mm x 1000 mm. Being large, this turned out looking great! This was a 1.2 mt x 1 mt Bali canvas. I have stretched a few of these with different coloured feathers, like green and pink. They are very cool! Scenic photography printed on canvas. These were stretched on a 38 mm deep stretcher which gave them a real three dimensional effect. Authentic African paintings from Kenya. This was another authentic African painting. These two African elephants were approximately 2 mt x 1 mt and were amazing. The trunks had so much texture that they actually felt like a real elephant's trunk. We hope that you like these examples of canvas that we have stretched at Up In Frames.

Here are a few more football guernseys that we framed in the lead up to Christmas at Up In Frames. It is a real pleasure to frame some of these items and we try to present them to suit every individual jumper. There are no two guernseys the same when it comes to size, shape and material so the frame size can vary depending on the item size, matboards, photos and plaques etc. This is a signed Hawthorn Premiership guernsey from 2015. This style is at the top end of framing options when it comes to framing football jumpers. This is a signed Dane Swan jumper framed with a plaque and the Limited Edition canister that it came in. This took a lot of time as a 90mm box had to be made for the back to allow for the depth of the canister. State South Australian and Victorian jumpers in a double frame with a plaque. This ended up looking great and was the first double guernsey frame that we have done. Above left is a GWS jumper signed by the great Kevin Sheedy and on the right is a West Adelaide Bloods 2015 premiership guernsey worn by Riley Milne. These are both done in a basic box framing style but are still spaced back from the glass with a 15 mm spacer inside the rebate. On the left is an Adelaide Crows 25 year Anniversary guernsey with all of the players names listed on the jumper, and on the right is a Crows jumper signed by Tony Modra. Above is a signed Port Power jumper from 2015. This was framed for Dr. Jones & Partners who supply all of the medical imaging for the Power and Crows.
We hope you like our work and think of us if you have any memorabilia that needs framing. It is definitely worth protecting these items to preserve them for many years to come. Up In Frames would like to wish everyone a very safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope that you enjoy this festive time with your family and friends. We would also like to thank our customers for all of their support over the year and hope to catch up in the New Year. We are closed over the Christmas period from the 24th of December until the 13th of January and are looking forward to a well earned break! This artwork was done by my daughter Isla May Williams and I think it's pretty awesome!!
At Up In Frames we would like to congratulate our nephew Bailey Williams on being selected by the Western Bulldogs at pick #48 in the 2015 AFL Draft.
After having a fantastic season at Glenelg in the Under 18's and Reserves he caught the attention of several AFL clubs, and after having 56 possessions in one game it was really a matter of which club would get him first. Bailey has previously done work experience twice at Up In Frames and showed great potential in picture framing but now has gone on to do what he has always loved best, playing Footy! Moving interstate is never easy, especially for someone who has just turned 18 but he has just started to settle in with his host family and team mates after being over there for a few weeks now. He certainly has the potential to go on and play at the highest level and we wish Bailey all the best in his future football career. All of the family are over the moon and are very proud of you mate! Here are a few more examples of Adelaide Crows and Port Power football jumpers that we have framed recently at Up In Frames. They range from the basic box frame style up to a more impressive triple matboard with a plaque.
At Up In Frames we get a lot of Balinese canvases coming in to be stretched at this time of the year that people have purchased on their trips to Bali. It is interesting to see all of the different styles of art and mediums used and they also vary greatly in size.
However it is very important that when purchasing these canvases you have them stretched as soon as possible when you return home and don't leave them rolled up for months before having them stretched. Adelaide's dry climate in comparison to Bali's can dry and crack the paint very quickly and makes it very hard to stretch them without the paint cracking. In some cases where they have thick oil paint we are unable to stretch them at all. Below are some examples of Bali canvases that we have stretched for clients in the past. What an awesome start to my Fathers Day with my daughter Isla bringing this home from school for me. It is a drawing of me which has a large resemblance to me (but hopefully my teeth are in better shape!). It has written on the back " My Dad is special because he gives me lots of kisses and cuddles. And he loves me. And he plays with me. And he teaches me things". They had a morning tea and Father's Day event at her school where the kids presented these to their Dads and read what they had written on the back. It brought a tear to my eye! She had also made a beautiful card and "Dad's tool box" which had a Mars bar, a key ring of the drawing and a voucher book for things like help in the garden, a sleep in, breakfast in bed and taking out the trash. I will be using those wisely!! :) I also scored some pretty cool stuff this morning from the kids. Isla's school had a Father's day stall and she had to take some money and pick something out herself. She bought me a stubbie holder, a super dad pen and a packet of jelly beans, which I have already been told that I have to share. :) Nathaniel picked out a Ping pong set and super hero jocks and I also got a singlet and some shorts. I think I did pretty well indeed! My two beautiful kids Isla May and Nathaniel John. I am a very lucky Dad to have such a beautiful family!
I hope every other Dad has a great Fathers Day too! When looking at getting your Flinders University or Adelaide University certificates framed you can't go past Up In Frames for top quality framing at a great price! There are a few options when having your certificates framed ranging from a basic ready made A3 (420mm x 297mm) frame up to a custom made frame with photos and plaques etc. The example above is a custom frame with photos and a v-groove around each window which gives it the effect of a double matboard. This one has non reflective glass which looks great on these certificates. There are a few different options when it comes to glass which will vary the price depending on your glass choice. This example above is a ready made frame with a dark blue matboard which matches the embossing on both Flinders and Adelaide University certificates. We keep a few of these in stock and they are available in our showroom for $59.95 each.
We also stock ready made A3 frames which are $29.95 and ready made A3 frames with non reflective glass for $39.95. There are examples of these in our ready made section on our website. Order yours today! |
